Plant to Product: Our Natural Ingredients

Argan oil is produced from fruit kernels of the argan tree and is sometimes referred to as liquid gold.

Argan Oil

What are the benefits?

  • High in Vitamin E and antioxidants, which offer protection to the skin.
  • Encourages blood flow, to regenerate the skin
  • Moisturising, the natural agents and fatty acids in argan oil make it effective at sealing in moisture and hydrating the skin.
  • Effective anti-ageing protection

Where do we use it?

Both our Mulberry Peelable and Wild Violet waxes use argan oil as well as our pre and post waxing range. It really is one of our hero ingredients! In our products, argan oil ensures your skin is moisturised and nourished after a wax.

Rice

For thousands of years people have used the healing properties of rice. Royal physicians used rice as a medicinal ingredient, and women of the imperial court used it to care for their hair and skin.

What are the Benefits?

  • Rich in Vitamins B and E
  • Brightens the skin, leaving you with healthy, glowing skin
  • Starch content can boost skin barrier health
  • Evens out skin tone and texture

Where do we use it?

Rice is a key ingredient for our skincare range. The Restore and Illuminate Rice Balm, as well as the Renew and Glow Face Polish and Body Polish are all made from rice. The antioxidants, minerals and vitamins in rice therefore provide a revitalising and brightening effect to facial and body treatments, leaving your skin with a beautiful glow.

Aloe

Both medicinal and skincare products have used aloe for centuries. The New Testament even mentions it. Used by Ancient Civilisations, aloe comes from the aloe vera succulent plant.

What are the benefits?

  • Cooling and soothing, to calm redness or irritation on skin
  • Supports the growth of new skin tissue, as it increases the availability of oxygen to the skin
  • Antioxidants help to slow down ageing process of skin
  • Contains 98% water, so is beneficial for moisturising and hydrating the skin

Where do we use it?

Our Skin Cleanser contains aloe. Due to the cooling effects and antibacterial properties this cleanser is used to prepare the skin before a wax. Also, Aloe is a key ingredient in many of our post wax products like Comfort Balm and Purifying Skin Spritz. Because of the cooling properties it can be used to soothe the skin. The antibacterial properties also help reduce bumps, redness and other after wax issues.

In our treatments we use an aloe glow (Hydrate and Nourish Aloe Glow).

Purslane Extract

Also known as little hogweed. An extract of the purslane succulent plant, which has often been used for healing due to its antioxidants and reputation as a superfood (high in Omega 3 fatty acids).

What are the Benefits?

  • Full of antioxidants, vitamin C and vitamin E
  • Anti-inflammatory properties that protect and nourish the skin
  • Helpful for hydrating dry skin
  • Anti-ageing benefits from the activation of telomerase

Where do we use it?

Replenishing Body Lotion, an important post-wax product, contains Purslane Extract

Purslane helps to moisturise the skin after waxing. Because of the anti-inflammatory properties, purslane also soothes the skin and help to reduce redness.
