Is the owner of Ashmira Botanica about to disrupt the Beauty Industry?

MEET TRACEY SMITH, OWNER OF ASHMIRA BOTANICA and her interview with Somerset Catalyst
Q: Can you tell us a little about your business? A: Having worked in the industry for a long time, I realised a gap in the market for a range which really helped the skin and was as natural as possible, with beautiful waxes which worked on all skin and hair types. Ashmira Botanica produces and sells a professional and natural waxing range, packed full of botanical ingredients, to spas and salons all around the world. Q: What makes Ashmira Botanica special? A: We have four beautiful and sparkly waxes: two strip waxes and two peelable waxes (often referred to as hot waxes). However, our waxes are not hot, and they feel very comfortable on the skin. They work on any person and any skin or hair type, with the ability to grab the shortest and strongest of dark hairs and the fluffiest of fair hair. Two of our waxes are vegan and all our pre- and post-waxing products are vegan. The products really help to look after the skin and help to prevent and remove of all the problems often associated with hair removal. Q: What are you looking forward to from the programme? A: I am so happy to have been chosen to join the programme. I am really looking forward to having experienced people help me to take my business to the next stage. I only know what I know, and I am looking forward to a wealth of expertise that can guide me towards making my business a huge success, utilising their expertise and experience. It’s nice to know that the panel could see something in me and my business, and want to help me to succeed. Q: What are your business goals for the next 6-12 months? A: Ashmira Botanica’s goal over the next year is to get as many new salons and spas on board and buying from us. I also want to raise our profile and launch a new Ashmira Botanica energy skin care range. Q: What do you think makes Somerset a great place to do business? A: It’s a very beautiful county and everyone is very friendly. We have great links to the rest of the country and overseas, so it’s a great location to do business.
